Presidents Update 2021/22 Season

Presidents Message

I hope everybody is keeping safe during this very difficult time. As the weather warms up its time that we now plan for how our COVID safe patrols and club operations will look.

We understand members have many questions and concerns around being COVID safe while undertaking patrols.

I apologise that we have not able to provide any off-season updates. The club like all of us has been in lockdown due to the NSW health orders. We have only operated our emergency callout team when required. Due to the changing NSW health orders, we have been unable to provide information for the upcoming season until now because Surf Lifesaving NSW could not confirm the status of the 2021/2022 season.

We can confirm that flags will go up on the 18th Of September.

The Club executive are seeking information and updates form Surf Life Saving NSW to assist with our patrolling season. We are looking at options to reduce patrol obligations, options around undertaking surveillance patrols and redesigning our patrol rosters.

Are you Patrolling This Year?

We urgently need to know if you are planning to return as a patrolling member for the 2021/2022 season. If your returning please log onto your surf lifesaving members portal and register for the 2021/2022.  Please also fill in this form.

If you are unable to register on the members portal or get to the website please text or call Club President Mitchell Pakes (0432 557 516) to confirm your patrolling this season.  The Membership fees for senior members for the coming season will be set to $0. This is to thank our returning members in difficult times.

At this stage we have also been advised that members under 16 years of age will be unable to patrol until health orders are modified. We understand this may be upsetting for some club families however hopefully the situation will change as the season progresses.

As mentioned our patrol season will commence on Saturday the 18th of September, 9am with Patrol 1. We will issue a patrol roster early next week for all members. Please understand that we may need to make changes to our roster as the season develops.

2021/2022 Nippers Season

Due to the NSW health orders our 2021/2022 Nippers season will be delayed until further notice. Our JAC will proved more information in the coming weeks. We are hoping to commence our Nipper’s season when the stay at home orders are lifted.

I look forward to seeing you all on the beach in the coming weeks.

Mitch Pakes

Club President
